Anthony is a very active boy whose leg was amputated due to a congenital condition. After many ill-fitting and broken prosthetic devices, the university hospital doctors who were treating him, told his mother that nothing else could be done. Anthony's mother saw a Springer Prosthetics TV ad and came in for a second opinion. Her son was fitted with a proper prosthetic and was soon back on the diamond with his buddies playing shortstop, racing go-carts and shooting hoops. Anthony is living his dreams and he and his mom are thankful that they found the caring experts at SPOS. |

As a result of cancer, Kitty underwent below the knee amputation surgery in 2002 at the prestigious Mayo Clinic. After her release Kitty began prosthetic treatment at the Rehab Institute of Chicago. But driving to Chicago every week for treatment became more and more difficult and Kitty’s residual limb was developing fitting problems that weren’t being addressed. She then switched to a prosthetic facility closer to her Kalamazoo area home but her painful problems continued. Kitty became discouraged and more dependent on a wheel chair.
After searching the internet she chatted with an amputee from Detroit who told Kitty that she received her prosthetic care from Springer Prosthetic and Orthotic Services in Lansing and couldn’t be happier. Kitty had never felt comfortable with the prosthetists or staff of the three previous facilities. So she made an appointment at Springer Prosthetics and was pleasantly surprised by the care and attention she received. The staff at Springer Prosthetics made Kitty feel welcomed and showed genuine concern for her well being. She now drives two hours to Lansing to get her prosthetic care and says it is worth every minute spent on the road. When Kitty first started as a patient at Springer Prosthetics, she was a very active second grade teacher. She has since retired, is pain free and continues to stay active.
